Phoenix is a code name taken by at least three featured characters in X-Men titles.Jean Grey-Summers is a currently active team member of the X-Men. She is a powerful telekinetic and psi talent.
Rachel Summers, her daughter in an altered timeline, is also often called Phoenix II and has similar superpowers.
Another entity took the form of Jean Grey for a time and originally took the codename of Phoenix in Jean's stead. Later, this alien being was attacked by Mastermind and became Dark Phoenix.
