Published by Wizards of the Coast, the Alternity system is adaptable to a variety of science fiction genres. Alternity's rules were influenced by prior TSR/WOTC games, Dungeons and Dragons and Gamma World.
Released in 1999 as the second commercial Alternity campaign, Dark Matter is a near-future horror/conspiracy setting.
The first major Alternity setting, the interstellar Star*Drive campaign takes place in the 26th Century, among the worlds of the Orion Arm of the Milky Way galaxy.
