Interpreting dreams has a lengthy history, and with that come many theories and superstitions. Whether dreams are messages from a higher consciousness or simply serve to maintain our brains, they are full of objects and events that we ascribe meaning to. It's quite possible that the only person qualified to interpret your dream is you.

Dictionaries

Dream Dictionaries give common interpretations of the appearance of various "symbols" in dreams. While it is simplistic to suggest that the appearance of a fish in a dream always relates to Christian scriptures, it is true that certain people or things we encounter in our dreams can represent our concepts of truth, beauty, lust, freedom, evil, and honor. Usually these symbols are meaningful only to ourselves, and most of these dictionaries step way out on a limb with their universal "definitions," but reading them can certainly give you ideas about how to understand your personal symbols.
